I’ve been a fan of IDEO for quite some time, often marveling at their solutions. Tim Brown has been refreshing to follow for the past few years as he’s honed his thinking and presentation around design thinking.

Striking in his presentation is the broad point of view from which he speaks. All the design disciplines (think of any industry or profession) are really a part of what he shares.

I’ve learned a ton from the product design industry and have applied many production and design concepts into the work I do. There are many synergies between product design and instructional design like: human-centered analysis being very similar to learner-centered task analysis or the ideation phase being a kin to iterative instructional design process.

What similarities do you see as you listen to the video or read the Harvard Business Review’s article?
